T-Mobile G1 Android phone by HTC dream
Finally, T-Mobile introduces the new Google Android-powered smartphone, G1 that is made by HTC. The T-Mobile G1 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 MHz processor, 256MB ROM and 192MB RAM. Featuring a 3-inch touchscreen, internet navigation buttons and a full QWERTY keypad, the smartphone market has finally broken free of Symbian, Windows Mobile and the sweet clutches of fruit companies.
Storage is suggested as an included 1GB MicroSD card, which seems on the small side considering the media credentials: a 3.1-megapixel camera (sadly without a flash) and playback of H.264, streaming, 3GPP, MPEG4 and 3GP video.
T-Mobile G1/HTC Dream supports WCDMA 3G, HSDPA as well as quad-band GSM networks.
While T-Mobile, HTC and Google are all tight-lipped on availability details, the G1 is predicted to launch on October 13th, 2008 for the subsidized price of $199. Existing subscribers to the carrier will apparently be able to preorder the G1 from September 17th.
