HP Mini-note 1000, the replacement of HP Mini-note 2133, is released quietly. According to that banner it should start at $399 and appears to have a 10″ screen. Unfortunately the banner only takes you to a generic notebook page with no specifics on the new Mini. Its weight is about 2.25 lbs. There is no solid informatio whether Mini-note 1000 using VIA’s C7-M processor like the 2133 or using a “common netbook’s processor”, a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU. Jerel Chong, HP Australia’s Market Development Manager for Notebook PCs, described the new model as “a similar device (to the 2133) but at a lower cost … It won’t be as durable but it will be cheaper”.
