O2 Germany is going to launch the latest member of the Xda series, the Xda Guide. O2’s Xda Guide is powered by a Qualcomm MSM 7225 528 Mhz processor, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. It features a 2.8-inch 320×240 touchscreen display, a 3.2 Megapixel camera, integrated GPS with TomTom Navigator 7 application, WiFi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 2.0.

The HTC-made Xda Guide runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the TouchFLO interface and Opera Mobile web browser pre-installed. The Guide is bundled with a 1GB microSD memory card, a 1110mAh Li-Ion battery, car kit and charging cable. Compare to Xda Orbit, the Guide is lighter and smaller.

LG introduces in Korea the LG-SH490 clamshell phone which is also known as the Make-up Phone. The LG-SH490 Make-up features a color display, a 3 Megapixel camera, integrated eletronic dictionary, VoIP support and media player. The front panel of the ophone has LEDs that can display 18 animations of your choice.

Samsung has launched a new clamshell phone, the SCH-W690 which will be available in South Korea from SK Telecom soon.
The Samsung SCH-W690 features a 2.6-inch AMOLED main display, a 1.5-inch OLED external display, a 2Megapixel camera, integrated GPS, Bluetooth, music player and support for 3G HSDPA.
The phone’s battery life is 800 mAh and the phone weighs merely 123 grams.
This makes us assume that sometime Samsung W690 will be available outside South Korea.

Mobile-review has got the Asus P835 Galaxy 7 PDA Phone and shows us hands-on photos. It is almost similar in size to the HTC’s MAX 4G or the iPhone, and has an excellent build-quality, and the leather on the phone gives it a nice feel. The Asus P835 Galaxy 7 is powered by Qualcomm MSM7200A 528MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, and 256MB ROM. There is also 4GB flash storage.
The P835 is expected to be released in late Q1 or early Q2 2009, and will have the following features:

• 3.5″ (800 x 480) touchscreen;

• 256MB RAM;

• microSD card expansion;

• 5Mpix camera;

• 528 MHz Qualcomm MS7200A CPU

Images of Motorola’s 2009 range for Verizon Wireless have been spotted by the Boy Genius Report, and while details are scant the handsets are at least not RAZR-rebadges. Four devices are on show, the Calgary - shown here - together with the Flash, Rush 2 and Inferno, all shown after the cut. Two are QWERTY sliders, an increasingly popular form-factor, with a touchscreen candybar and touchscreen flip rounding out the line.

The names are all believed to be codenames, rather than necessarily what will make the final cut, and when exactly each will see a release is unknown. The most specific timeframe is for the Rush 2, expected in Q1 2009. Of all the devices, that one is perhaps the least unusual in design terms; it’s also unclear whether it uses a touchscreen like the other three do.

No detailed specifications beyond CDMA, but expect Motorola to pull out all the stops - on certain handsets at least, we’re thinking the Calgary and the Flash which both have “premium” written all over them - to try to claw back some market share and profitability. Also unclear is what OS the devices will use.

AT&T releases the BlackBerry Curve 8320 smartphone. The 8320 features built-in Wi-Fi. The BlackBerry Curve 8320 is available beginning today for as low as $149.99 with a 2-year contract and mail-in rebate.
