The newest addition to the ever-expanding mini-camcorder market is the Creative Labs Vado HD. The Vado HD features a 2-inch LCD screen, 8GB of internal memory which will give you about 2-hours of recording time at 720p quality, or up to 4-hours of recording time at a VGA quality. Aside from the recording time, the Vado HD measures in at 3.3 x 7.9 x 6.3-inches.
Additionally, it seems to be priced at a very competitive point. It is retailing for $199, which is about $30 cheaper than the Flip Mino HD.

Nikon was releasing an official picture of its upcoming camera, the Nikon D3x which unfortunately were taken down now. D3x is expected to be unveiled next month. No confirmed specification available, but we can expect D3x to boast a 24.4 megapixel sensor ( 6048 x 4032) and capable to shoot 8 frames pre second at burst mode.

The $200 Creative Vado HD camcorder shoots 720p MPEG-4 high definition video for up to two hours on its integrated 8GBs of storage space. Like the Flip MinoHD (Obsessable review of the Flip MinoHD can be found here), the Vado HD is a highly portable small form factor high definition camcorder with integrated USB connectivity. The Vado HD, however, is a little bit cheaper than the $229 MinoHD and has a few features that edge out the MinoHD, such as double the storage capacity for twice the length of video shooting, the ability to record in VGA mode and thereby double the available recording time to four hours, and HDMI out with an included HDMI cable to provide true HD connectivity to your HDTV and HDMI capable television.

Unfortunately, if you’re a Mac user, the Vado HD loses to the Flip MinoHD, whose integrated software is both Mac and PC compatable; the Vado HD only works with XP and Vista. Although the Creative Vado HD is currently listed as being out of stock at Amazon, you can now pre-order the device.

Other than the XL series announced in April, Canon announces two new prosumer HD camcorders, the XH A1S and XH G1S of the XH series. The HDV XH A1S and XH G1S both feature a 20x HD video lens, manual zoom / focus, three independent manual adjustment rings, an “unprecedented” range of image / color settings, 60i / 30F / 24F frame rate options, Instant AF focusing system, the DIGIC DV II proprietary digital signal processor, two built-in XLR terminals with separate audio-input sensitivity settings, line output level switching and support for optional HDD recording in the field. Canon’s XH G1S comes with additional HD-SDI/SD-SDI Output, SMPTE Timecode Input/Output, and Genlock Input.

Canon XH A1S and Canon XH G1S HD camcorders will be available in December for $3,999 and $6,999, respectively.

Sony showcased their latest flagship, Alpha DSLR-A900 at Photo Imaging Expo 2008 in Japan. It features a 24.6 Megapixel 35mm Full Frame CMOS image sensor, ISO from 100 to 6400, High Speed Dual BIONZ image processor, and a 3-inch LCD display.

The official on-line shop of Doraemon, Japan has announced the launch of limited edition of Doraemons Bell Casio Exilim digital camera. The EXILIM EX-Z20 is a 8 Megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, Face detection, Auto Shutter, a 2.6-inch LCD display. It can record 848×480 H.264/AVC video clips.

Only 4,000 pieces of the limited edition of Doraemons Bell Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z20 digital camera will be available on line for approximately 30,000 yen ($295). Booking will close on November 4 and delivery will start from mid December in Japan.
