AT&T announced the launch of the BlackBerry Bold smartphone on 4 November, for $299.99 with 2-year contract and mail-in rebate. According to AT&T, the Bold will have all the hardware goodness we found in our Rogers Bold review, including HSDPA, aGPS and Wi-Fi. The Bold is equipped with an Intel PXA270 624MHz processor, 128MB Flash memory and 1GB of ROM. It features a 480×320 display, a 2 Megapixel camera, built-in GPS, Bluetooth, and a microSD/SDHC slot (up to 16GB). The Bold has a SureType QWERTY keyboard. No word on whether AT&T and RIM have supplied a patch to improve the performance of the Web browser, which was the Rogers Bold’s major performance problem when we tested it. The Blackberry Bold will be available on 4 November for $299.99 with two-year contract and qualified voice and data plans.
